After about almost four hours of steady riding and 165 miles, we arrived at Buffalo, NY. Seeing the blueness of Lake Erie was stunning. It looks just like the ocean but I had to remind myself that it's just a lake, a very large lake.

Back in 2014 on my first cross country trip I visited The Anchor Bar, the birthplace of the Buffalo Wing. The Anchor Bar is still going strong but everyone in that area told me that Duff's had better wings. I didn't get a chance to sample Duff's wings back then but I wasn't going to miss it this time.

I got ten wings in medium (anything hotter and you're risking burning a hole in your motorcycle seat) and a basket of curley fries. I wouldn't say I'm a connoisseur of wings but I've probably eaten about a thousand pounds of wings in my lifetime. I've been waiting to try these Duff's wings since 2014, more than the lifespan of a typical wild chicken.

Let me tell you, the believers are right, Duff's is indeed better than Anchor Bar.

The wings were fat, crispy and most importantly, just buffalo-y enough for medium. I probably could've gone for the medium hot but I'm sure my GI tract thanked me for staying with the medium since that had just a twinge of burn. It was well worth the visit and the wait.

After dinner, I had to go to downtown Buffalo to retrieve an Amazon package for a part for the bike from an Amazon locker. The two other guys went to the hotel while I went off on my solo mission. After a 20min ride, I retrieved the package from the locker and just as I stepped outside it started a steady rain. I had to ride back to the hotel in the rain. Visibility was poor and I had a hard time seeing the lanes in the reflective wet road. It was pretty dangerous to be out there. I went slow and eventually navigated my way to the hotel. I was glad to be done for the day and hopped into the bathroom for a hot shower.

Steady rain is forecasted for the next day. That's when I was supposed to cross into Canada. Not sure it's going to happen now.
