We were surprised to see dedicated motorcycle parking at the Flight 93 Memorial. There was just a lone Harley Road King parked in the long rows of motorcycle parking area. It clearly belonged to a Marine Corp veteran based on the USMC logo etched onto the engine cover along with a few other markings on the bike. I especially liked the pin striping that was on the front fender. For some reason, I didn't take any photos of the bike.

As we were walking into the main building, I saw this woman walking out with numerous patches on her cut, including a USMC patch. I asked if that was her Harley and she replied that it was. Her name is Michelle, veteran, and she's riding a tour of honor visiting sites around the country. We chatted for a few minutes about her travels and as we parted ways she gave us a small ziplock bag with her Tour of Honor info and a star of a worn out flag that is no longer flying.

I didn't get a chance to take a photo together since I bombarded her with chatter just as she was leaving the memorial museum. But a day later I sent her an email asking if she would send me a photo of her and her bike for one of my entries and she wrote back a nice email and sent this photo:

Sounded like this is her first long solo trip and she still has a long way to go. Godspeed Michelle!

She ended her email with this appropriate Celtic quote:

"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
