About 250 miles later, we entered Manitoba.

Manitoba is part of the prairies of Canada. It has some of the straight roads I've ever been on. Seriously, one straight roads for hundreds of miles. I engaged my cruise control and rested my throttle hand. After another 90 miles, we entered the city limits of Winnipeg. Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba and has about three quarters of a million people. It's a decent size city with a symphony, opera house and the Royal ballet. Despite these high art elements, it also has a very blue collar industrial feel as well.

We finally arrived at Tamar and Clint's home. Tamar was very excited to host us and in typical Canadian fashion, she was friendly, kind and generous. She and her husband Clint are both distance riders have have four Victorys between them. Not only did they provide us housing but they even prepared a home cooked meals. I honestly felt a bit bad making making them do so much work to host us. I tried to convene that we're super casual and easy and they don't need to go out of their way to cater to us. Nonetheless, they were so generous and kind. It's such a nice feeling to spend a night hanging out with warm people when you've been on the road and so many of your days can be so foreign and challenging. I've been lucky to have met up with Ken and now being hosted by these wonderful people. As I've said many times before, these encounters are a big reason why I ride these trips.
