I woke up in my motel in Radium Hot Springs and walked to the coffee shop a few blocks away for a cup of coffee and a sausage roll (this amazing British pastry we can not get in the US). I really like this little town of Radium Hot Springs. They even have a set of giant horns in the town traffic circle.

As you can imagine, mountain rams are a big thing here. I've seen a few herds. They usually appear in the most inopportune time when you're on the road. No photos but I have videos of them.

After fueling up, I left Radium Hot Springs to ride up to Golden as part of the Golden Triangle loop. BC-95 is mostly a two lane road that runs north south with the Columbia River parallel to the road. I'm heading north with the river on my left. The road runs mostly thru farms. I saw a lot of horses and sheep. Occasionally, the Columbia River will pop up on my left with the same light turquoise blue color and the mountains on my right. After an hour on BC-95, I arrive at the town of Golden. The town was founded on railroad and logging and they are still the main industry today.

I stopped into Papa Bear's Kitchen for a coffee to warm up. The barista was very friendly and we chatted about my trip and her background and the town of Golden. Apparently there are many French speakers here as I heard in the cafe. She made a great cup of coffee although she confessed she doesn't do latte art.

After the coffee, I finished the Golden Triangle Loop on the Trans Canada Highway and headed back to Banff to explore the town itself.
