I woke up this morning and had to pack up the bike for the next leg of my Alaska trek. From this point on, I will be solo. Even though I've gone cross country a couple times alone, this one feels different. Maybe I'm still reeling from this start of this past week. But I can't even think about actually entering Alaska or going on the Dalton or even half way or the return trip home. I'm literally just taking it one day at a time.

It was so great to see Jigger and his family that I was a bit reluctant to leave. But leave I must. We all gathered for a group photo.

This is the most loaded that my bike has ever been. It's heavy, requires more input to turn and takes longer to stop. I don't recommend it. Next time just rent a pack mule.

I left Brampton and headed north to Greater Sudbury. I left later than I planned so I decided to make up some time and take the Trans-Canada Highway. Getting out of the city was a drag. People drive like crap and lots of accidents and breakdowns. But after about 90 mins, the highway turned into two lanes and was climbing and descending. We're finally starting to get out in the wilderness. It'll still be a long long before I reach real wilderness but this was a nice start. But for now, just one day at a time.
