After fish tacos, I had to trek to Victoria.

While not that far at 280 miles, it is a slow moving road from Tofino back to Nanaimo and then down to Port Renfrew to Sooke and then to Victoria. The road to Port Renfrew and to Sooke is actually a bit twisty and goes up and down the mountain. While most of the roads on the island have been scenic, they haven't been that technical until now. This portion of road may be my favorite on the island, a bit challenging and still have decent views.

Halfway to Victoria, I rode by the Jordan River. Had to stop to take a few pics:

After another hour and a quarter, I arrive at my Airbnb in Victoria. The outside didn't look quite right as I notice the unkempt front yard and the carport filled with junk. I went inside the house to check on my room. The walls were poorly patched, the door knob was barely screwed in, there was no lock on the door and the bathroom was poorly put together. Since I was here for two nights, my instincts told me this was not a good place to stay. I went outside to call Airbnb to explain the situation. As I was talking to the rep on the phone, a rat ran across the front of the carport. I told the rep about the rat and said "I am absolutely not staying here tonight and I want a refund." I then booked another Airbnb and went across town to the new unit. This one was a basement room and while better, it was still nothing to write home about. At least I could lock the door to my room and there were no rats. It's good enough for my two nights stay in Victoria to see the town.
