7/8/22

I got into the Lodge at around 8pm. The Lodge is situated on top of a hill so I had to climb this pretty steep unpaved driveway. Once I got to the top you could see the grandeur of the building.

The inside of the Lodge has these wooden beams that creates this "rugged luxury" feel and look.

The balcony of the lodge faces Mount Shad, the Black Rapid Glaciers and the Delta River. The view is simply amazing.

After I checked in and unloaded the bike, dinner was waiting for me in the common dining room. I sat down with other guests and chatted over dinner. After dinner, I went onto the balcony and chatted with Annie and Mike, the owners and friends of Sheryl, who set up this entire experience for me. My room and private bath was spacious and luxurious (forgot to take photos). I had a good night sleep and the next morning was served breakfast. Upon checking out, everything was taken care of.

It's hard to believe that all this just happened randomly. A random stranger that I've met and talked with for less than an hour just offered to gift me this experience. All I can do is to chalk this up to the power of traveling alone, kindness, and being open to others. You never know who and what you'll encounter on the road.
