Another ferry ride - 11am, a quick 35 minutes from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver on the mainland. Once I'm off the ferry, I go right onto BC-99/Sea-to-Sky Highway north towards Whistler Mountain. The Sea-to-Sky is one of the best roads in the Vancouver area. It twists and turns pretty sharp and steep right from the get go. About 60 miles north, I reach Whistler, one of the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics. It's a popular winter and summer location for all sorts of outdoor activities. So when I got to Whistler it was a bit of a parking lot.

Another 92 scenic curvy miles and I reach Lillooet, another beautiful vacation town. But given my late start on the ferry ride and I'm not stopping until Kamloops, I rolled right by Lillooet and kept going. 55 East and I reach Cache Creek. The mountains here reminds me of Utah and New Mexico. The colors are a clay red. These views are in Savona, about 24 miles east of Cache Creek.
