Moraine Lake is the less famous but even more beautiful lake than Lake Louise in Banff. There were numerous signs showing the parking lot was already full and closed. You would have to queue up to take a bus to see Lake Moraine. I decided to pull up on my bike and ask the parking attendant how long he expects the lot to be open again. As soon as I pull into the parking lane, the attendant waves me through despite the large sign saying "Lot Full." Many times being on a motorcycle gets you the wrong attention or disapproving looks but once in a blue moon, you score and get waved through.

The road to Lake Moraine is actually a decent distance of about 8 miles with some scenic sights along the way.

At the end of the road is the parking lot. I parked next to a couple Harleys. It's cold and damp here. I walk to the entrance of the lake and see so many people rave about Lake Moraine over Lake Louise.

There are way less people here (but still a fair amount) and I'm in the Moraine Lake camp vs the Lake Louise camp. Because it was so cold and windy here, I wanted to warm up with a cup of coffee. Thankfully there is a cafe here and I had the privilege to pay $7 for a cup of brew coffee but at least they let me keep my wallet and clothes.
