The Most Famous Beaver in the World

140 miles northeast from Lockhart on US-21 and 190 and I see the sign for the world's most famous beaver:

I learned about Buc-ee's a couple years ago and I've been wanting to go ever since. Founded in the 80s in Texas, Buc-ee's is a giant gas station/travel center/food emporium/gift shop that is an institution and God send when you're traveling on a road trip. They have tons of road snacks and even smoke their own BBQ. And how can you not want to go a store that has their own jerky section?

Buc-ee's has been expanding beyond Texas and they just open one in South Carolina. I believe a road trip to this new store is in order when I get home.

the state of TX just gives and gives... i've seen the beaver before but never knew what it was... Buc-ee's... alright... noted! especially, like you said, how can you not visit a place with their own Jerky counter... i mean... come on! protein rich snacks for the win!
